Alternatives Centre For Behavioral Health

The Alternatives Family Violence Program is focused on helping the perpetrator understand how the use of power and control over another results in abuse, no matter the form the abuse takes.

Based upon the Anderson & Anderson Model of Domestic Violence Intervention, a certified Family Violence Counselor facilitates groups on Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and evenings as needed.  Groups are in English and Spanish and are seperate for men and women.

The Program meets the requirements for court ordered Domestic Violence or Family Violence treatment and a certificate of completion is provided at the end of the program.

Attendees learn how to interact with others without the use of power and control to achieve their goals.  In addition, members learn to identify situations and behaviors that trigger abuse and how to cope with these situations before they lead to abuse.
