Alternatives believes that much of the frustration and discouragement felt by the chemically dependent person can be eliminated once the person realizes that there are important physical, emotional, and genetic aspects to addiction.

We also acknowledge the importance of the dependent person and family participation in treatment programs that allow continuation of employment, school and other constructive modalities.  This allows those in treatment to practice what they learn.

 Our chemical dependency treatment programs are designed to help the dependent person receive help while remaining gainfully employed.  Alternatives program staff work closely with employers, EAPs, and probation officers to ensure the patient is meeting terms of employers and/or probation officers.

Relapse preventions is stressed as part of recovery and our program helps the patient identify his/her own relapse triggers and develop plans for coping with them before they occur.
